Due to the intransigence of the oil companies, the delivery of petroleum fuels by rail to Tamworth ceased on Friday 13th November 2009. Clearly an appropriate date for the unfortunate road users who will need to negotiate dozens of extra B Doubles on the Highways.
The last up empty fuel was operated by 8137 + X51 + X48.
A rare opportunity to photograph MZ class locomotives operating on the NSW Main North line in daylight hours. MZ1437 and MZ1434 lead #1565 freight Northward on Sat. 25th October 2008.
More shots of QRN Mt Arthur coalies. Includes first run of 5007 and shots of first operation of 5000 class with both locos nose ahead. Also P.N. ore, grain and coal.
